More Ultron mini-thoughts

I’m planning to see Ultron again next week and I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to say about it then.

In the meantime, a couple of things I enjoyed:

The running joke about Steve and “language”. I have a minor pet peeve about some fic writers presenting him as on the verge of fainting at the sound of “rough language”. The man had a rough life, pre- and post- serum. The man was in the military. What more need I say?

Thor’s hammer and who is “worthy”. I loved Thor’s worried look when Steve Rogers tries picking it up. Because awhile back I was curious about who, in comicsverse canon, is “worthy” to pick up Thor’s hammer, and guess who was. Yes, Steve.

And, here’s a panel from at least one storyline where Natasha picks it up and gets transformed into an Asgardian warrior – as usual, in the utterly impractical costume comic book heroines have to wear.

And, well, a tiny bit of research shows quite a few characters have been “worthy” over the course of the past few decades of comicsverse canon. As Ultron proves.
