Diamonds and Rust

“We both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust “

I loved Joan Baez’s song “Diamonds and Rust” when it first came out, and the more the years go by the more it resonates. This was a very lyrically creative time in her career, perhaps best shown by the beauty and creativity of the second to the last verse which describe that one moment in time which can be relived but can never be recaptured.

I love that song too--second only to In the Quiet Morning, written by Joan's sister, Mimi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWX81dvYkes
I think this song is amazing and always have. I love Blackmore's Night version, too, which I was thinking about BEFORE I read someone's comment on youtube saying they loved Blackmore's Night version, too.
Oh, I wanted to add that Joan Baez's version of "Brothers In Arms" is absolutely amazing, but of course Dire Straits is already perfect.
