Defending traditional marriage?

*blink* For the past many months, it seems like half of the Mormon population of Utah (and California) was camped out on every street corner in California waving “Yes on 8” signs “defending traditional marriage”. Judging from the following I guess they forgot to promote the message of “marriage is between *one* man and *one* woman” back home.

The Utah polygamists have been busy producing voter’s guides, sending out questionnaires to politicians and in general are becoming politically active.

Considering the background of the Mormon church, I have to shake my head at the hypocrisy of it all.

(One of my college friends was from a polygamous family (her parents had left the church). She showed me her family tree once – talk about a tangled snarl. No wonder they’re into genealogy.)
