The Captain America Reverse Big Bang

The Captain America Reverse Big Bang is a reverse of the usual Big Bang challenge. Artists wishing to participate will create art that will be posted anonymously to be claimed by an author. Authors will then write a story (minimum of 5,000 words) inspired by the art they have chosen. Join us for Round 3!

Snowflake Challenge Day 5

Snowflake Challenge Day 5: In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them.

Facebook: There’s a lot of the sort of fannish meta discussion on some Facebook groups that reminds me of how much I loved those same sort of conversations in Yahoo groups. I’m doing most of my fannish interaction there now.

Dreamwidth: The recent influx of old friends and new people to DW is bringing a lot of joy to my life.

Challenges: I love doing story challenges, and just signed up for this year’s Captain America Reverse Big Bang. I did this challenge in 2017, inspired by artwork by RenneMichaels.

Reciprocity by CatalenaMara, RenneMichaels, RenneMichaelsArt (RenneMichaels)
Summary: Instead of throwing Loki into a dungeon, Odin placed him in the care of Asgard’s healers. Now Loki’s on parole back on Earth, magically restrained from doing anyone harm, there to help humans develop defenses and weapons in the coming war with Thanos. Steve, at first highly skeptical, begins to believe in Loki’s redemption, eventually making Loki his project. But Loki, who doesn’t want to be anyone’s project, is expert at maneuvering, even under what should be foolproof constraints.
Steve already knows how they differ. What surprises him is what they have in common.

Snowflake Challenge Day 6

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

1. I’d love to have fan art for more of my stories. I’ve been fortunate in that, back in the fanzine days, several of my stories were illustrated by some wonderful artists. Recently, I took part in the Marvel Big Bang 2018 and was fortunate to have two artists choose my story to illustrate.

But since I’m wishing, it’d be cool to see art for my MCU stories, the steampunk “False God” and the 1940s era “In The Grove”, and my Kirk/Spock story “Sacrifices”.

Does that count as three? :-D

2. I’d love to see stories where Loki and Steve Rogers meet in the 1940s. Bonus if they meet again in the present day.

Snowflake Challenge Day 7

Snowflake Challenge Day 7: Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or check out some fanworks that are new to you.

I decided to go for a new pairing. I actually went looking for some femslash, but found this lovely story where Pepper has to deal with her own PTSD after Extremis and Tony, feeling helpless, asks Natasha’s help. The pairing is Tony/Pepper.
